桜の蕾もやわらかく。。

桃の節句までもうすぐですね。桃のお花が咲き乱れるのは４月上旬ですが、桜の蕾がだんだん柔らかくなってきています。桜は、日本列島に人々が住み始める前から野山に自生していたそうです。奈良時代までは、花といえば梅をさし、平安時代になってから　花といえば桜をさすようになりました。だから、現在最古の歌集「万葉集」歌われる葉の数は圧倒的に桜より梅が多いそうです。
　季語が少ない２月の貴重な季語の梅のお花は　強いな～と感じます。ここ数日の菜種梅雨にも負けず、まだまだきれいに咲いています。ところでいつごろこの桜の蕾は開くのでしょうか？　要観察ですね。

The buds of cherry blossoms
Dolls festival is coming soon.The symbolic flower of doll's festival is ume plum. But ume bloom at the beginning of April. Now ume ,Japanese apricot tree ,are in full bloom.So seasonal word of February in haiku is ume.I found some buds of cherry blossoms start to bloom. Since Heian period cherry blossoms became the symbol of spring flower in Japan. Until then ume symbolized the flowers of spring. I gotta check how this bud will come out in one month.
